Eugene Thompson murder case: This is likely the most famous muder case in Minnesota history. Thompson was a Saint Paul attorney who hired a small-time gangster to kill his wife after Thompson secured the purchase of over a million dollars in insurance on his wife's life. This 1963 case was covered by the national media after the Ohio trial of Sam Sheppard. </p>Criminal Trial Trilogy: Jurgens Case: MN Child Protective Services 1987 (Ella Baker)http://minneapolis.ce.eleyo.com/course/52705/adult-enrichment-spring-2024/criminal-trial-trilogy-jurgens-case-mn-child-protective-services-1987-ella-baker2024-03-11T09:00:00-05:00<p>Lois Jurgens and her husband Harold adopted a one year old named Dennis in 1962. On Palm Sunday in 1965 White Bear Police were called to Jurgen's home when the Jurgen's reported that Dennis was not breathing. Covered in bruises the boy died from a perforated intestine which resulted in his death. No murder case was pursued in 1965. but 22 years later the biological mother trying to discover what happened to her son got authorities to reopen the case and prosecute Lois Jurgens for Dennis' death.</p>Criminal Trial Trilogy: The Glensheen Murder Case 1977 (Ella Baker)http://minneapolis.ce.eleyo.com/course/52706/adult-enrichment-spring-2024/criminal-trial-trilogy-the-glensheen-murder-case-1977-ella-baker2024-03-11T09:00:00-05:00<p>On June 27, 1977 Elisabeth Congdon and her nurse were killed in the Congdon home, Glensheen Mansion in Duluth Minnesota. Elisabeth was the wealthy daughter of Chester Congdon who had inherited many millions of dollars. Elisabeth's daughter Majorie who was an out of control spendthrift and her husband Roger were charged with the double homicide of Elisabeth and the nurse. These artists have been designing for over 150 years. Minnesota had the nation’s first municipal architect in 1915.
