Key to Language Class Levels
Doctora Brittany Clausell, Ed.D. was born in South Minneapolis to parents of Spanish-speaking heritage from the Dominican Republic, México, and Guatemala. Growing up in the Wayzata/Plymouth area, during a time when few people looked and spoke like her, provided her with a passion for being seen for her rich cultural heritage and love for language-learning. She converted her quest for promoting cultural diversity and representation into her career as a language instructor for the past 15 years and counting. Dra. Brittany has taught Spanish and English to immigrant learners in a variety of K-12 and college/adult professional settings, making sure to infuse fun, diversity, authenticity, and life-long learner joy into each of her lessons. Dra. Brittany earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Portuguese Language and Literature Studies; Chicano/Latino Cultural Studies, and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction; Second Languages and Cultures from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She also earned an Education Specialist degree from Capella University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership degree from Gwynedd Mercy University, Philadelphia. When Dr. Brittany is not teaching, working in school leadership, or serving as a community activist, she enjoys spending time with her family and close friends, traveling, going to concerts, and trying out new recipes. ¡Español es lo máximo!
