Beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin, Madeline Island, and the Apostle Islands have been attracting visitors since the 1800’s. These early tourist arriving by train or steamboat, found towns and islands, filled with lumber mills, sandstone quarries, and commercial fishing. Throughout the tour, Dave will share much information on the geography, history, culture, nature and contemporary life in the north country.This region is one of the premier tour destinations in America. Tour Highlights: * Pattison State Park Short walk and Wisconsin's highest waterfall * Richard Bong WWII Heritage Center & Lunch in Superior, WI * Ammicon State Park * Travel along scenic Wisconsin Highway 13 with views of Lake Superior and some of the most rustic towns in Wisconsin & views of the Apostle Islands * Red Cliffs Indian Reservation Visit * Tour of Ashland, Wisconsin. * Narrated Boat Tour of The Apostle Islands with stops at some of the islands * Rittenhouse Inn for Elegant Lunch * Northern Great Lakes Museum and Visitor Center * Boat Ride to Madeline Island: Short tour and free time to explore the shops. * Lunch on your own in Bayfield and time to explore this historic town. * Travel back to Minneapolis through rural Wisconsin learning about the countryside and the cities along the way All adults 21+ are welcome to join the tour! Meet bus at the Chowen Ave. (west side) parking lot between 46th & 47th streets NOTE: Any cancelations after June 27th will be refunded less $25 if we can fill the spot from our wait list. Transfer of registration is accepted. If tour is full, please enroll for the waitlist. We will contact you if a space becomes available. If there is enough interest, we will move to a bigger bus.

To ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as a discounted option and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Fees cover instructor pay, most class supplies, program materials, marketing and scholarships. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. As always, we will continue to offer additional financial assistance upon request.
