Maureen Trepp

Minneapolis historian Karen Cooper became curious about the history of Minnehaha Falls after she began collecting 19th century pictures of the waterfall. After looking at over 1,000 pictures of the falls, she started noticing oddities: buildings and graffiti and other changes. From these small hints, she discovered the lost history of truly bad behavior at our beloved local landmark. Karen blogs about other parts of Minnehaha history at urbancreek.com and is author of “When Minnehaha Flowed with Whiskey: A Spirited History of the Falls”, MNHS Press, Spring 2022.
