Are Japanese Beetles eating your garden? Let's go edible bug hunting! Join Tim Clemens from Ironwood Foraging Co. and learn about Japanese Beetles, an invasive edible scarab. You'll learn how to find, identify, trap, and cook these delicious and nutritious insects. Locations will be in the Minneapolis/Edina area depending on availability. Do you have old wood windows in need of some TLC? Ready to practice window repair skills? Join the staff of Hayes Window Restoration for a hands-on outdoor workshop all about windows. They will explain common window issues and demonstrate basic repairs. This class will focus specifically on glazing, paint prep, and painting. Participants will have their own station at which to practice these skills. You are invited to bring a window from home. We'll also have plenty of practice sash to use. Designed for homeowners and property owners who plan to restore and repair their old windows, this workshop is primarily a hands-on practice session. Masonry expert John Beaty, our partner through the Minnesota Historical Society, will teach a hands-on class about the basics of masonry and mortar repair. Taking place at an old Minneapolis home, participants will learn about historic masonry materials and techniques while restoring this local home to further its preservation and sustainability.
