SSP Health & Wellness TREK Program
Find your inner peace as you travel Minneapolis to strengthen your well-being. Explore the bountiful beauty of the nearby lakes while you practice paddle board yoga on Lake Harriet and mediation at the beach, or at the Rose Garden. Visit the Midtown Global Market or Minneapolis Farmers Market to learn about locally sourced food and plan a menu to complete in an outdoor food challenge. (To participate, you must demonstrate basic swimming skills and be able to handle yourself in deep water. We will have our Aquatics staff confirm your water skills on the first day of class so bring your swimsuit!)You will bike or take a city bus to activities each day. Please check over your bike to make sure the tires are inflated fully and that the brakes function properly. A bicycle helmet, water bottles and a good lock is also required. Bring a bag lunch and snacks, or money to purchase them. Note: Students are limited to enrolling once per summer, per TREK.
To ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as a discounted option and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Fees cover instructor pay, most class supplies, program materials, marketing and scholarships. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. As always, we will continue to offer additional financial assistance upon request. When families participate as they are able, in all levels of our sliding scale, the whole program becomes self-sustaining. Thank you for your consideration as you sign up for summer programs!
