This class is great for beginners with or without any experience! The student will learn safety fundamentals, tool and torch usage, solid rod welding and gathering, color application, shaping, and more. Students will be able to create small trinkets, marbles, paper weights, plant rods, or anything else that can be thought of with the skills learned. Class Policies: Please arrive at your scheduled class a few minutes early to fill out applicable paperwork and receive assigned safety glasses. Liability waivers and emergency contact forms must be filled out in order to participate in class. These forms will be provided upon arrival, prior to your scheduled class. Requirements: No sandals or open footwear - shoes must have closed toes and heels No loose sleeves or long dangling necklaces/bracelets Long hair must be tied back Please come to class fed and hydrated - standing is required for the duration of class for optimal safety. [A chair may be provided if needed for medical reasons] Recommendations: Cotton or natural fiber clothing recommended (It’s best to avoid synthetic clothing as it could melt in the case of an accident) It is highly recommended that you bring water to drink Free street parking will be available to all students in the front of the building. There is typically ample parking available on our block. If a student arrives to class inebriated they will be asked to leave, for safety purposes. Students will not receive a refund in this case.

A sporran is a traditional Scottish pouch worn with Highland dress, typically with a kilt. It hangs from a belt or chain at the waist, serving both practical and decorative purposes by providing storage and completing the attire. Join us for the basics of sporran construction! *This only includes the Sporran pouch; the belt or chain will need to be sourced separately.

Always wanted a leather writing pad or mouse pad or play mat? This class is the answer to your search! We will be making a 12x24 writing pad with a focus on edge finishing techniques and stamping or tooling.

This is a great opportunity to come and hang out in community at North High School painting pictures of your choice and listening to some jazz tunes. Tell a friend bring a friend and have some fun painting and listening to jazz music. We look forward to having you join us.

Improve your throwing techniques as you develop your art. Fee includes up to 25lbs of stoneware clay, glazes, tools and firing. In order to get the most of this class and finish your work, please only sign up if you can commit to the full schedule. There are not make up dates available. In an effort to keep the pottery class available for all students, we will be limiting registrations for consecutive quarters, with the exception being going from Pottery level 1 to level 2. If you register for Pottery and were enrolled the previous quarter, we will remove the registration and issue a refund. If class is full, please enroll for the waitlist. Learn to use your sewing machine while completing a project. During the first class, we will practice threading and adjusting stitches, discuss patterns, fabric selection and determine your size. Expect to purchase a pattern, fabric and notions by the second class, if you haven't already. Students should bring their own sewing machine. If class is full, please enroll for the waitlist. This hands-on course covers the fundamentals of drawing fluid screen printing. Get tips to create eye catching compositions and the artist's hand–eye coordination. Experience the entire process, from initial artwork creation and design, to tearing down your project and equipment. Students will collaborate and critique in group discussions.

Experiment with color as you create a series of small woven wall hangings using thread! Designing with color is like creating a musical score. If individual colors are notes on a scale, the arrangement and sequencing of colors create the harmonies and rhythms that spark our senses. In this workshop, we’ll create a series of unique color “scores” using yarn wraps as our medium. The class begins with a review of common color theories, with participants contributing their knowledge for inspiration. Then, we’ll create our first yarn wraps - small-scale color sketches using yarn and stiff paper. Participants will be encouraged to use colors they love as well as colors they tend to avoid. Using our color sketches as a guide, we'll weave small wall hangings. Participants will receive an overview of the weaving process with example projects for reference.
