Children's Introduction to Karate This class is an introduction to karate for children, through a supportive, safe and fun atmosphere. Students can expect to learn the fundamentals of traditional Goju karate - stances, blocking and striking and movement. We'll also practice various grappling holds, throws and escapes. We'll also play martial arts games - we are learning self-defense, but will also have fun! Students will be barefoot and should wear comfortable exercise clothing. Some exercises may have light contact with a partner. Barry Crone is a 3rd degree black belt in traditional Goju kai karate-do, learning karate in Eau Claire, WI and Minneapolis. Barry began his martial arts journey learning judo in his hometown, and eventually transitioned to karate. -
