Minneapolis Public Schools

Students will work together to prepare for and participate in the Minneapolis Urban Debate League- Middle School National Topic. Students will learn to construct and share research-based arguments and will learn to engage in thoughtful, respectful debates with their peers. Students can compete in up to 6 debate tournaments from January to March. Our debate divisions are designed to get students excited about debate. Rookie and novice are designed for beginner students. Junior Varsity and Varsity are designed for students who are ready for a higher level of competition. This class will meet on Tuesdays October 26, 2023 - December 12, 2023. This class will meet and participate in Debate Tournaments on Thursdays, January 4 - March 28, 2024.
