Minneapolis Kids provides year-round, fee-based, school-age childcare for families with youth enrolled in High Five/Minneapolis Kids Jr through 5th grade during the school year (entering grades K-7 during the summer).
Teen Parent Services is dedicated to keeping teen parents on the track to graduation by providing them with parenting education and supports while providing high-quality early childhood education services to their children.

What could be better than a two day historically narrated Mississippi River Cruise to Red Wing, Minnesota, with overnight lodging at the Historic St. James Hotel. Travel along the scenic Mississippi River with historian Dave Bredemus passing through charming and unique river towns on both the Minnesota and Wisconsin sides of the river.
The Mississippi fly-way between Red Wing and Saint Paul is considered one of the best locations in America to view birds. Mark Twain said this is the most beautiful stretch of the Mississippi River. During our cruise, we will have lectures about river lore.
Some of the places we will learn about and see from the river are Gray Cloud Island, Historic Rock Island Bridge, Kaposia Dakota Village, Point Douglas, Hastings, Saint Croix River, Diamond Bluff and many more historic and scenic sites.
The Magnolia Blossom is a 80-foot paddle boat, equipped with heat and air-conditioning, whichever is needed for comfort. The Magnolia Blossom has an enclosed first deck and an open second deck.
We will depart from the Watergate Marina in St. Paul, with parking available.

After our arrival in Red Wing, Minnesota, we will check into the Historic Saint James Hotel. Dinner is included at the famous St. James Hotel along with a guest speaker to discuss the Sea Wing Disaster -- one of the deadliest events ever to occur in Minnesota. Fred Johnson a retired Saint Paul Public School teacher and noted author will join us for his presentation on the Sea Wing Disaster before dinner.
Tuesday, June 9 we start our day with a short walking tour that ends up at one of the best bakeries in Minnesota for a treat (included). Late morning, we board our motorcoach bus and travel to the Goodhue County Historical Museum, one of the best in Minnesota. Lunch downtown on your own.
After lunch we will travel on our motorcoach and tour Red Wing. After leaving Red Wing, we travel on country roads most of the day. Our first stop is a historic Swedish settlement called Vasa Minnesota known for its rural character and history. We will tour its Swedish church, cemetery, and other buildings. The whole town of Vasa is on the National Register of Historic Places. Leaving Vasa we travel through the beautiful Cannon River Valley with its beautiful bluffs and to the historic town of Welch Minnesota on the Cannon River. Dinner will be at one of Minnesota’s most iconic restaurants Kings Place in Miesville, Minnesota (included). After dinner, we will see one of the most historic town ball fields in Minnesota. Our last town that we will visit will be the Luxembourg settlement of New Trier Minnesota.

Meet at the Watergate Marina, 2500 Crosby Farm Road, Saint Paul Minnesota, 55116. Crosby Farm Road is at the intersection of Shepherd Road and Gannon Road. Plenty of parking is available. It is okay to leave your car overnight.

Dave Bredemus was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. After attending schools in Saint Paul he graduated from St. Cloud State University with a teaching degree in history and social studies. He taught junior high social studies and was a administrator with Community Education in Saint Paul for 38 years.
Dave developed a tour program for adults starting at 1981. Dave has done hundreds of day trips and many overnight trips covering every state in the United States. He has led 17 trips to Europe. Dave has also led educational trips to Mexico, Cuba and other Caribbean locations. The trips are an educational experience exploring history, geography, and cultures in a fun and interesting way.
