Minneapolis Kids provides year-round, fee-based, school-age childcare for families with youth enrolled in High Five/Minneapolis Kids Jr through 5th grade during the school year (entering grades K-7 during the summer).
Classes for Summer Youth Programs will be visible and open for registration February 23 at 5pm.

Give the gift of learning. Gift vouchers can be purchased in a variety of denominations and can be used for most Community Education Youth & Adult Enrichment classes. Some restrictions apply.
We are hosting a friendly, semi-competitive community chess tournament at Seward Montessori this Summer! 5 rounds of 30 + 5 time control. We will be using a Swiss scoring system, with +1 point awarded per win, +.5 Points awarded for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Chess boards will be provided, chess clock apps are recommended for keeping time - if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to andrew.kallevig@mpls.k12.mn.us. Some chess clocks are available for use.
Trophies will be awarded to top 3 players, which will be determined by total score and tiebreakers based on strength of opponent. In addition, first place will receive a new chess set!
This is an unrated tournament of all skill levels- come experience an OTB tournament with your community!
Tournament specific rules will be:
Touch Move (if you touch a piece, it must be moved.)
Illegal moves will be reset, with 2 minutes awarded to the opposing party.
Quiet Play (No continuous conversation or excessive comments)
Any assistance, please pause clock and raise your hand, tournament staff will assist any disputes/clarify any rules.
