In this hands-on class, we’ll begin with the influence of Chinese porcelain and trace the evolution of tile design through Moorish geometry, Dutch Delftware, and end in contemporary Portugal. As we explore the cultural connections behind these beautiful traditions, you’ll design your own pattern and paint a ceramic tile with underglaze to bring history to life in your own hands.

    Garment Construction: Intro to Sewing (Ella Baker)

    Learn to use a sewing machine to complete an easy garment. In the first session, we will cover sewing machine basics and how to measure correctly. Everyone will leave with a full set of measurements. In the second session, students will bring the pattern and materials needed to complete the project, and we will learn how to read the pattern and layout the pattern pieces to cut. The third session will be construction and troubleshooting.   • Glass Blowing Intro: Torchwork (Ella Baker)

    This class is great for beginners with or without any experience! The student will learn safety fundamentals, tool and torch usage, solid rod welding and gathering, color application, shaping, and more. Students will be able to create small trinkets, marbles, paper weights, plant rods, or anything else that can be thought of with the skills learned. Class Policies: Please arrive at your scheduled class a few minutes early to fill out applicable paperwork and receive assigned safety glasses. Liability waivers and emergency contact forms must be filled out in order to participate in class. These forms will be provided upon arrival, prior to your scheduled class. Requirements: No sandals or open footwear - shoes must have closed toes and heels No loose sleeves or long dangling necklaces/bracelets Long hair must be tied back Please come to class fed and hydrated - standing is required for the duration of class for optimal safety. [A chair may be provided if needed for medical reasons] Recommendations: Cotton or natural fiber clothing recommended (It’s best to avoid synthetic clothing as it could melt in the case of an accident) It is highly recommended that you bring water to drink Free street parking will be available to all students in the front of the building. There is typically ample parking available on our block. If a student arrives to class inebriated they will be asked to leave, for safety purposes. Students will not receive a refund in this case.

Kobi Co. is a luxury candle and wellness company based in Minneapolis. Kobi Co. Founded in 2020 by 17-year-old Kobi Gregory, as a self care ritual to help her cope with the stress of distance learning during the pandemic. We'll explore the map making process by creating our maps on paper, and using various mediums to create our places: color pencils, markers, water color, and colored paper are all options. This class is open to all skill levels. Just bring yourself, you're creativity and thoughts about places that make you feel emotions.

    Use air dry clay to create something with your own hands! Learn the techniques and tools of Air-Dry Sculpture, the possibilities are endless, and include making an animal sculpture, making a vase or trinket bowl, making a frame for the wall or a wall altar. This can also be used as an opportunity to make ornaments and gifts for holiday giving. Keep an open mind and prepare to find inspiration in a group of friendly sculptors like you. No experience necessary.
