Bancroft Physical Education Teacher, Peter Maxwell has taken the best of Physical Education and created an After School course your child(ren) will not forget. This class will take place in the Bancroft Gymnasium. Your child(ren) will experience different activities during each session. Activities include lifelong sport, recreation and fitness: most all individual and team sports, rope jumping, racket games, track and field, kickball, tag games, ultimate frisbee, floor hockey, bowling, volleyball, lord of the rings, pin guard, mini mighty stations, Danish baseball and many others. Teachers also incorporate math, reading, health, nutrition and wellness into their lessons. This class is perfect for the child that needs more movement in their lives! Lessons are designed to keep kids engaged in learning activities and to keep their heart rates elevated. Character building, cooperative skills, individual success and safety are all emphasized. ______________ ESPANOL: El profesor de Educacion Fisca en la escuela de Bancroft creo un programa para "Despues de Clases" que sus hijos disfrutaran y no olvidaran. Esta clase se llevar a cabo en el gimnasion de la escuela, su hijo experimentara distintas actividades. Las actividades incluyen deportes tradicionales, de recreacion y ejercicio: reforzando el trabajo individual y en equipo; saltar la cuerda, carreras, kickball, frisbee, hockey de piso,boliche, volleyball y mas. El maestro tambien incorporara matematicas, lectura, salud, nutricion y bienestar a sus clases. Esta clase es perfecta para el nino que necesita mas movimiento fisico en su vida! Las clases estan disenadas para mantener el pulso cardiaco elevado en los ninos. Les ayudara a reforzar caracter, trabajo en equipo, exito y seguridad personal. ----- In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. We're moving to a sliding scale model for program fees so our youth programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as discounted options and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Fees cover instructor pay, class supplies, program materials, marketing and scholarships. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. As always, we will continue to offer full scholarships upon request. When families participate as they are able, in all levels of our sliding scale, the whole program becomes self-sustaining. In this dynamic robotics class, students will explore mechanical design, construction, programming, and teamwork skills. Working in pairs with LEGO building elements, motors, and sensors, they will build various robot prototypes. Student will program these robots to move, react, and make sounds, applying their skills to solve design challenges using LEGO SPIKE Prime robotic systems. The class will culminate in participation in the 2025 FIRST LEGO League Challenge SUBMERGED℠ on January 25, 2025. In the SUBMERGED℠ Challenge, students and their LEGO team will harness creativity, critical thinking, and technology to explore the ocean's depths, surfacing their discoveries and innovative ideas. Beneath the surface of the ocean lies one of the planet's most complex and vibrant ecosystems, streaming with life and brimming with opportunities for exploration and learning. Each organism plays a crucial role in maintaining a thriving environment. Along the way, students will discover our collective potential to strengthen communities and drive innovation for a healthier, more sustainable world with thriving oceans -------- En esta clase los ninos trabajaran en parejas con elementos de LEGO motorizados y con sensores que les permitiran crear prototipos de robots.
