  • ALC Justice PAGE Turners (Justice Page)

    Do you love reading? Have you always been curious about the process of making comics and graphic novels? This is the class for you! We need your help reviewing books that could be part of Minneapolis Public Schools’ ELA classes. Even more, you will be paid $25 for each book you read and review. That's free money just for sharing your thoughts! The books range from fiction to nonfiction, novel to graphic novel, and you'll get to decide which ones should be used in your classes. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to learn about the process of making comics and graphic novels while creating your own. All levels of artistic prowess are welcome. Just bring your creative brain and love of books. Be ready to learn new things and earn a little bit of cash in the process! This class is lead by Mr. Shane! This class is only open to Justice Page students.
  • Anime Club (Justice Page)

    Join Anime club and get a chance to practice your freestyle art and meet and spend time with anime lovers. Most importantly, you'll get a chance to explore anime and discuss various themes expressed through the visual medium. We'll be taking a look at some of the most popular animated films, but also at some less heard of series as well. No prior knowledge of anime or Japanese culture needed, just an interest in foreign culture and a willingness to listen and express your opinions. In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education offers fees on a sliding scale. Families are asked to pick the class fee or a price that they are able to pay. When families participate as they are able, at all levels of our sliding scale, the whole program becomes self-sustaining and our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as higher and discounted options.

    Art Club (Justice Page)

    Be inspired, get creative, and make cool art! You'll exchange creative ideas, create works of art, and meet new friends with similar interests. This class will be a hands-on, creative thinking, individual expression, and experimentation workshop atmosphere. This is a great place to explore your artistic interests. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as discounted options. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay.     Basketball Workout (Justice Page)

    Connect with friends and play basketball afterschool! Join Mr. Burks in the gym for basketball skills, drills, and games. All levels are welcome to join. In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. A sliding scale model for program fees so our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as discounted options and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Fees cover instructor pay, class supplies, program materials, marketing and scholarships. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay or select the no-cost option. We have always offered partial and full scholarships upon request. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making these requests. When families participate as they are able, in all levels of our sliding scale, the whole program becomes self-sustaining.

    Each week have fun playing different games. Classic board games, challenging strategy games, trading card and chess will be available each week.   • Justice Green Team (Justice Page)

    Do you want an opportunity to make the world a better place? Do you want to get your hands dirty (and get out of class from time to time to do it)? Are you interested in hearing from people in our community that make positive environmental and social changes? Like pizza and snacks? If you said yes to any of these questions, consider joining our school club! The Green Team at Justice Page is a group of students who are working together to make our world a better place. We collaborate to find and implement solutions that are environmentally friendly through advocacy, education, and action. We will get our hands dirty and take field trips exploring and learning along the way. The Green Team is a fun way to learn more about environmental issues, and sustainability, and work with other students who share a passion for making our school and community a great place to live! Students will have a voice and choice in what we focus on. This class will be FUN and make an IMPACT! Pizza and snacks are a bonus to this class. This class is only open to Justice Page students.

    Math Prodigies (Justice Page)

    Need help with Math? This is the class for you. Ms. Novak will work with you and with small groups to understand and complete Math work. Gain confidence in asking and answering math questions and gain a better understanding of concepts being taught in your classes. You will also play ST Math, Prodigy, and other math games to build on what you know.

    Math and Movement (Justice Page)

    Need help with Math? This is the class for you. Ms. Novak will work with you and small groups to understand and complete Math work. Gain confidence in asking and answering math questions. You will also play ST Math and Prodigy, and other math games to build on what you know. The second half of Math and Movement will be spent moving your body doing circuit workouts, meditation, and other games in the gym.
  • Musical - Costume Crew - alc/ce(Justice Page)

    Learn the importance of costumes and props to help tell the story of the musical. Work as a team to make, gather, and maintain the costumes and props for the cast of the musical. You'll be behind the scenes helping cast members throughout the show. Get creative making costumes, altering clothes and gathering items. Before, during and after performances you'll be busy working with the cast. This class will meet twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday until February, 24 when we will add a few more days. All Cast and Crew member attend the Full week of March 3-7. Public Performances: Friday March 7, 2025 at 7:00pm - Students stay after school, rehearsal, and dinner before the performance. Saturday March 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM and 7:00PM - Students arrive at 12:30 and 5:30 to prepare for the performances. Strike and Celebration: Afterschool on Monday, March, 10. This is an ALC and Community Education class. It is taught by MPS licensed teachers and community Education Instructors. This class is only open to Justice Page Students
  • Musical Stage Crew: Set and Stage Management- alc/ce (Justice Page)

    Learn the importance of large, props, set, and stage design to help tell the story of the musical. Get creative and work as a team to make and collect props, build stage pieces, and move stage pieces through out the show. Before, during and after performances you'll be busy behind the scenes. This class will meet twice a week, Monday and Wednesday until February, 24 when we will add a few more days as needed to work with the cast. If the crew feels like they need more days in January or February we will add them on a flexible schedule. All Cast and Crew member attend the Full week of March 3-7, and public performances, and Monday March 10 for striking and celebration! Public Performances: Friday March 7, 2025 at 7:00pm - Students stay after school, rehearsal, and dinner before the performance. Saturday March 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM and 7:00PM - Students arrive at 12:30 and 5:30 to prepare for the performances.     Learn the importance of lights and sound to tell story of the musical. Before, during and after performances you'll be busy behind the scenes. Students who learn these skills may be called to help with future auditorium events like school assemblies, guest performances. Attention to detail, willing to learn, and work as a team are all important parts of running the lights and sound. This class will meet once a week until February, 24 when we may add a few more days. We will meet all week March 3-7. Public Performances: Friday March 7, 2025 at 7:00pm - Students stay after school, rehearsal, and dinner before the performance. Saturday March 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM and 7:00PM - Students arrive at 12:30 and 5:30 to prepare for the performances.   • YWCA Girls Inc (Justice Page)

    YWCA - Girls Inc! YWCA Minneapolis is a member organization of Girls Incorporated. Through Girls Inc., girls take risks, discover and grow their inherent strengths, learn to value themselves and create long-lasting mentorship relationships in a pro-girl environment. Through this affiliation with Girls Inc., YWCA offers research-based curriculum delivered by trained professionals to equip girls to achieve academically, lead healthy and physically active lives, manage money, navigate media messages and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This programming helps girls traverse complex gender, economic and social barriers to find success. Participants gain opportunities to learn new skills, make positive connections to peers and adults, contribute to society and believe in their ability to create the best possible future for themselves. This group is for students who identify as girls and/or non-binary. YWCA will require additional registration forms to be completed before program start.
