    Adventures With Y Mentors (Waite Park Gr. 1-5)

    A team of College Y Mentors will be coming weekly to our after school program with a new adventure each week. Each week we will have an opportunity to use our imaginations creating all kinds of fun activities, which could include creating and playing games, travel, nature, music science, art, and even learning how to grow your brain! This is a grant funded club that is $0 for participants.

    Crochet Club (Waite Park Gr. 1-5)

    Be inspired, get creative, and make cool crochet! Ms. Kelsey is excited to hangout and crochet with you. You'll exchange creative ideas, help each other crochet, relax, and and meet new friends with similar interests. This class will be a hands-on. All skill levels welcome and Knitters welcome too!     Dungeons & Dragons: Badwolf Studios (Waite Park Gr. 3-5)

    Step into a world of imagination and adventure in this fun, beginner-friendly session! Participants will learn the basics of D&D, create a unique character, and dive into a guided mini-adventure—all with the support of a professional Game Master. No prior experience needed; we make it easy to focus on the fun, not the rulebook. Class is run by Badwolf Studios tabletop games: Tabletop Gaming in Coon Rapids | Badwolf Adventure Studios. Note:In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale.   • Musical Theater of MN (Waite Park Gr. 1-5)

    *This class will be a COMBINED WINTER & SPRING CLASS (Jan 8 - May 14), but class fees will be for each session separately.* The class fee you see for this class is for the Winter period. Students will continue in Spring/re-register when Spring comes, class roster will stay the same. We ask that all students who sign up continue for the whole session (as the whole production relies on all parts to be present). This program will enhance confidence and allow children to embrace their love for the arts. We will work on dance, voice, and theater techniques through a series of different exercises and games. You will learn and rehearse songs from well-known musicals such as Hamilton, The Lion King, Aladdin, leading to a mini in-class performance on the last day.     Northern Star Co-Ed Scouts (Waite Park Gr. 1-5)

    Co-Ed Cub Scouts lets youth explore and have hands-on experiences with kids their age. This program helps students build confidence, personal achievement, and respect for themselves and others. This class is open to all genders. https://www.northernstar.org/. This is a grant funded club that is $0 for participants.
  • Pokémon Club (Waite Park Gr. 1-5)

    Join to explore the world of Pokémon! We will explore the value of some of our cards, play some games to test your knowledge and of course craft/do activities related to the theme! An assortment of Pokémon cards will be available to use during club time. Note: Pokémon cards are NOT allowed at Waite Park during day school. Students enrolled in this club can bring their own cards for this afterschool class, however they are only able to bring them on the day of Pokémon club and they must stay in their backpack/locker (during day school and snack time) until afterschool class time. School staff will not be responsible for any lost cards, so please let your students know they are responsible for keeping track of their cards, if they choose to bring them. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests.
