Community Education Youth Programs deliver a wide range of high-quality enrichment learning opportunities during out of school time (afterschool, release days, and summer). Community Education offerings support youth to develop strong peer relationships and foster new skills, through our intentional program design that fosters cultural identity, youth voice and leadership. In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)ECFE offers classes, programs and services for families with young children from birth to kindergarten age. Our licensed early childhood educator partners with you to offer meaningful and fun learning opportunities for your child. During classes, parents and children participate together in group time and activities; followed by a parent discussion facilitated by a licensed parent educator, who brings research-based parenting information into the conversation.Category

Minneapolis Kids (Including Minneapolis Kids Jr)The mission of Minneapolis Kids is to provide high quality school age care for families. The program offers a safe, nurturing, educational & recreational experience where children are encouraged to pursue interests & develop friendships, independence, & confidence. Minneapolis Kids is offered through the Community Education Department of Minneapolis Public Schools and provides year-round, fee based school-age care for families with youth enrolled in High Five through 6th grade. Care is available from 6:30 am-6:00 pm, Monday through Friday with Before and After-School and full-day care on Non-School Days and in the summer. (Components vary by site.) **NEW**Minneapolis Kids also offers full-day Pre-K child care for four-year-old preschool children at select sites.
