    Arts & Crafts with Ms. Powell (Grades K-1)

    January 8th-February 29th (8 sessions) Build friendships and explore your creative side in our Arts & Crafts class! This class is designed to bring out the big artists in our students! Our projects will help develop their artistic skills and experiment with a variety of materials. This class will offer a variety of art projects including painting, collages, drawing, and mixed media. Each activity provides your child with a hands-on creative experience and great work of art to take home. Limit 20. Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay.     Dance with Ms. Bells (Grades K-1)

    Explore your expressive movement side in Dance with Ms. Bells! In this class, students will have the opportunity to try out various types of dance including contemporary, hip-hop, ballet, and more! Students will spend the session putting together a performance for our After School students, staff, and families!     Gaming Landscape Crafting with BadWolf Studios (Grades K-1)

    Engage your art skills to build impressive landscape terrain pieces for tabletop roleplaying games or diorama displays. Use foam board, glue, paint, weathering, and other art-related skills to create take-home pieces for use in tabletop roleplaying games or as display pieces. This is a beginner-friendly course that requires no experience.   • Gym Games with Active Solutions (Grades K-1)

    Wenonah Physical Education Teacher Mr. Pritchard has taken the best of Physical Education and created an after school Indoor Physical Education class your child will never forget. Your child(ren) will experience 3-4 different activities during each session. Activities include lifelong sport, recreation and fitness, most all individual and team sports, rope jumping, racket games, track and field, kickball, tag games, ultimate frisbee, capture the flag, frisbee golf, four square, floor hockey, bowling, volleyball, lord of the rings, pin guard, tangle town, mini mighty stations, pits and allies, Danish baseball and many others. Walking field trips may include hiking along Minneapolis Parks trails to Lake Nokomis. This class is perfect for the child that needs more movement in their lives! Lessons are designed to keep kids engaged in learning activities and to keep their heart rates elevated. Character building, cooperative skills, individual success and safety are all emphasized.     Jedi Masters with Snapology (Grades K-1)

    In this program, your youngling will explore the galaxy with their master building skills and our intergalactically-focused curriculum. Motivated to become Jedi like the heroes in the movies, students will learn to concentrate on mastering the Force, appreciating the use of teamwork to build battle drones and AT-Walkers, and if their skills are up to par, make their very own lightsaber and use it in battle! May the force be with your young Padawan as they rise through the Jedi ranks! Limit 16.     January 8th-February 29th (8 sessions) From mermaids to minnows, explore stories of the deep with a teaching artist from the Children's Theatre Company! Create deep sea creatures crafts that will look like they swam off the page and bring them to life as you adventure onstage. At CTC we value building life skills through theatre skills. Participation in the arts creates resilient young people who are fearless individuals, innovative thinkers, and open-hearted humans. Theatre classes teach vital life skills such as collaboration (teamwork), improvisation (creative problem-solving), vocal projection and confidence (public speaking). Limit 12.     Science Experiments with Mr. Cam (Grades K-1)

    January 8th-February 29th (8 sessions) Between Sprite and Mentos explosions, homemade volcanic eruptions, and rainbow skittles creations, your child will engage in action-packed science experiments with Mr. Cam! Each activity provides your child with opportunities to build friendships, get messy, and become excited about science concepts! Limit 16.
