Anime & Stop-motion Animation (Anthony)
Join Anime club and get a chance to practice your freestyle art and meet and spend time with anime lovers. Most importantly, you'll get a chance to explore anime and discuss various themes expressed through the visual medium. We'll be taking a look at some of the most popular animated films, but also at some less heard of series as well. Later in the year, we’ll get a chance to create our own animation using stop-motion techniques we can do right on our own Chromebooks using google slides! No prior knowledge of anime or Japanese culture needed, just an interest in foreign culture and a willingness to listen and express your opinions. -
BIPOC Affinity Group (Anthony)
This is a place for Anthony students who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) to express themselves, share ideas, and support with others. The group will begin by choosing a name and discussing what they’d like the group to be. Topics may include: culture and history, social justice, art and cooking, and building a safe and accepting community of peers & friends. If you are a person of color who wants to connect with others, come check out this new group. -
Chess Club (Anthony)
Beginners through advanced players are welcome to come play chess together! Learn some new skills or practice what you know with other Anthony students. -
Coding (Anthony)
Come explore the world of coding with Tynker. Tynker is a learning platform that introduces kids and teens to the joy of coding, makes coding fun with a hybrid online approach, empowers students of all ages to become creators, and develops critical thinking and coding skills. -

Cooking (Anthony)
Explore different cuisines from sweet to savory as you learn different recipes each week. Impress your family with your new cooking skills! Students will learn different cooking skills like measuring, chopping, sautéing, baking, and more. Each week you'll learn something new and try new foods. cooking and eating - what could be more fun?! -
Design Art with Ceramics (Anthony)
Students will receive an introduction to handbuilt ceramics, focusing on slab and coil techniques. Students will then use their skills with clay and their skills in engineering to push the limits and build new and unique designs inspired by our world. -
Dungeons & Dragons - D&D (Anthony)
Get ready to go on an adventure through mystical worlds fighting monsters and finding treasures. Students create and roleplay a character or be the dungeon master (DM) as they travel through a new adventure each week. New and experienced players welcomed! -
GSA - Gender & Sexuality Alliance (Anthony)
Gender and Sexuality Alliance - Students taking part in this affinity group for LGBTQIA+ individuals will have opportunities to share their experiences with other classmates, learn more about LGBTQIA+ history, to create and foster an inclusive space for LGBTQ+ students and allies. Learn how to be an ally and advocate, learn about other marginalized communities (BIPOC, students with disabilities, etc.) and what students can do to support them, have a space for acceptance and belonging at Anthony Middle School. GSA creates a sense of community and fun for LGBTQIA+ students and their allies. -
Jewelry Making and Crafting (Anthony)
Bracelets, necklaces, rings, anklets, you name it, you can make it! Jewelry Making will be a fun class to create all sorts of stuff that you can wear yourself or maybe gift to someone important to you! Either way, we’ll be using a variety of different supplies so there is a ton of room for your creativity! Plus: Let your creativity shine with a fun crafting class after school! You'll explore different crafting mediums from fibers to collage, polymer clay, beads and more. Projects will be driven by student input, so bring ideas for crafts you'd like to make with others - we'll have time for one or two crafts each week. Students will have a lot of input in types of projects they’d like to do in this combined focus class! -
Literary & Photojournalism Zine (Anthony)
Do you love telling stories or recounting events through writing or photography? This is the class for you! Students will work together and independently to create written works and photography to submit to a digital zine that will be shared with the Anthony community. Let your creativity shine and become a published writer and/or photographer here at Anthony in this fun, new after school class! -
Mural Making & Set Design (Anthony)
Come help to create a vision for a mural in our school and in painting a lasting piece of art for our beloved Anthony community! Using design concepts, learning about murals in community-building and social movements throughout history, and seeing the project through from start to finish, your creativity will be a valuable part of the process in making an amazing piece of art! If you've ever wanted to be a part of a mural project in the community, this is the class for you! -
Strategy, Card, and Boardgaming Club (Anthony)
Strategy card and boardgaming club is for new and experienced attendees alike. We will try to focus on thematic and educational games when possible. Students can bring games from home to share, or play ours! This is a great opportunity to meet friends and play games after school! -
YWCA Girls Inc (Anthony)
Through this affiliation with Girls Inc., YWCA offers research-based curriculum delivered by trained professionals to equip girls to achieve academically, lead healthy and physically active lives, manage money, navigate media messages and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This programming helps girls traverse complex gender, economic and social barriers to find success. Participants gain opportunities to learn new skills, make positive connections to peers and adults, contribute to society and believe in their ability to create the best possible future for themselves. This group is for students who identify as girls and/or non-binary. -
YWCA Strong Fast Fit (Anthony)
A program designed to build a lifelong love of fitness and healthy eating that will nurture the minds of youth and adults. The program will educate the youth in learning about healthy behaviors, become more active in on-going activities and engage youth in making nutritional snacks and meals together.
