  • Articulture: Unicorn Love Grades K - 2

    Become lured into this lair of fantasy and myth. Fairy dust paves the way into a world of elves, fauns, wizards and of course, dragons. Keep a living journal of your imaginary experiences and record your very own spells. Community Education utilizes a sliding scale model for program fees so our after school programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as discounted options and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay or select the no-cost option.

  • GEMS & GISE Grades 4-5

    Have fun twice a week doing hands-on Robotics and STEM projects! Students will spend the fall working towards the Robotics Tournament taking place on Saturday, January 21 and then spend the winter/ spring working towards the GEMS/ GISE spring event on Saturday, May 6th. This class is ran through Extended Learning and will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from Monday, October 24th – Tuesday, May 10th.Students enrolled in fall session will automatically enroll in both winter and spring sessions of programming.
  • Monday Funday Grades K-5

    Lets Get Weird! Due to the added winter break day and observed holidays, Mondays during winter session will only see 4 weeks of programming. This has lead to staff shortages on Mondays. So I have decided to make Mondays at Dowling a "Greatest Hits" class. Each week will expose participants to a class that is currently or has been popular in the past. Week 1: Swimming- Last chance to use the pool after school until Mr. Paul returns. Week 2: Bonfire- Weather permitting we will hit the Nature Acre and warm up around a fire eating smores. Week 3: Skillet Masters- Who doesn't like a little breakfast for dinner. Students will learn how to make pancakes using a skillet. Week 4: Student Choice Community Education utilizes a sliding scale model for program fees so our after school programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as discounted options and options that help us cover our administrative costs.   • Outdoor Explorers Grades 2-5

    What a perfect way to unwind at the end of the school day! Students in grades 2-5 are welcome to join Ms. Melby to explore, play, and create in the Nature Acre. Come spend time on the Dowling's Grounds exploring nature! Expect to spend most of the time outdoors in all types of weather. Please dress for the weather and expect to get dirty. Class meets from October 24th – January 31st.
  • Snapology: STEAM Park! Grades K-3

    Amusement park rides, theatre stages, pools, race tracks and more are a part of the mix in this collaborative class. We’ll tinker with engineering and robotics concepts, use teamwork and collaboration to build water parks, rides and creative petting zoos. It’ll be a fun class where STEAM concepts intersect with creativity and open-ended problem solving as we build our way through fall session!   • Twin Cities Chess Club: Chess Grades K - 5

    Chess with Twin Cites Chess Club! Come learn the fundamentals of chess, or improve your current skills. This class is open to all levels.
