Active Solutions has taken the best of Physical Education and created a after school class your child(ren) will love. Activities include: indoor Physical Education and Team Sports. Teachers also incorporate math, reading, health, nutrition and wellness into their lessons. This class is perfect for the child that needs more movement in their lives! Lessons are designed to keep kids engaged in learning activities and to keep their heart rates elevated. Character building, cooperative skills, individual success and safety are all emphasized. In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. We're moving to a sliding scale model for program fees so our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay or select the no-cost option. We have always offered partial and full scholarships upon request. The D# Dragons is a club for 1st & 2nd Graders, centered around singing, expressive speech, dancing, and playing instruments with Mr. Farho. We will explore musicianship in its' many forms and foster a love for musicmaking and community. We will have different coloring themes each week, and Ms. Hatz will provide various kinds of coloring page options ranging from easy to challenging. Mrs. Mattson guides a story journey each week in this creative writing class. Using techniques behind the zones of self regulation, this class will learn to stay in the green zone by expressing themselves and using their bodies as tools while writing, reading, and sharing stories together!
