    STUDENTS CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN FALL SESSION ARE AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED IN WINTER SESSION. If your child is interested in the winter session with Mr. J and is not currently registered in the Fall class, please fill out the paper form and return to the main office/ Krystal with Community Education.     Our Cheer and Hip Hop program focuses on fun cheers and modern hip hop movements with a vivacious urban feel. Our hip hop camp will focus on rhythm and musicality, how to "find", count music and dance in with a team. Different styles of hip-hop dance will be combined with fun choreography. Our cheer camp will teach various dance and cheer combinations, basic stunts, and fun choreography. Along with these skills, participants will build teamwork, confidence and leadership skills.   • KENDAMA (Grades 3-5)

    Kendama is a growing professional sport in the world with Minneapolis being a hub for some of the best players in the world. Our program merges the fun and excitement of Kendama play with the importance of mindful awareness and emotional regulation. Our program teaches students basic techniques in mindful breathing designed to help reduce stress, anger and anxiety. The program also focuses on helping students practice emotional awareness and growth mindset through journaling, reflection and through play with kendama in a series of progressively harder challenges and games. Students can expect to be active and moving during our class. No prior kendama experience is necessary! Students will receive a Kendama to take home and practice.   • Musical Theater (Grades 1-5)

    Come join your friends in this fantastic theater class! Our teachers are highly trained actors, percussionists, guitarists, pianists, singers and dancers that joined forces to create a program that enhances students’ confidence and allows them to embrace their love for the arts. Reading skills are used during class participation so we ask students are in at least first grade. We work on our dance, singing and acting technique through a series of different exercises and games. Our repertoire includes songs from well known musicals such as Hamilton, The Lion King, Aladdin, Wicked, Cats, Hairspray, and many more! CLASS IS 16 WEEKS: WINTER AND SPRING SESSION IS COMBINED.   • Piano Lessons (Gr. 3-5) *45 minutes

    The Village Music School will offer weekly small group lessons. 4-6 students will be enrolled in the class. This class is 45 minutes each, for 7-weeks. PARENTS MUST PICK UP AT 4:45 PM Class fee includes a fee rental for the class instrument. The Piano (roll-up piano) is to be brought to and from class so students can practice at home when not in class. At the end of the last class, students will turn in their instrument. If your piano is broken, lost, or needs to be replaced, it is at full cost to the families and you will be asked to pay $55 for the piano.
