  • Lifeguard Blended (online & classroom)- Ages 15+

    Get certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding; First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Lifeguard. This course requires a seven-hour online portion that must be completed before the first day of class. All class sessions must be attended in order to receive certification. If registration is closed, please contact silvia.ihme@mpls.k12.mn.us to see if there is still room in class. NOTE: If you are associated with the Red Cross under a different email than the one used to register for this class, please email me with that email so I may use that one to associate you with the Red Cross and keep all your certification together. silvia.ihme@mpls.k12.mn.us Age Prerequisite: 15 years of age and older Skill Prerequisites: * Swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl and/or breaststroke * Tread water 2 minutes using only legs * Complete a timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds * Swim 20 yards, starting in the water * Surface dive into 7 to 10 feet deep water to retrieve a 10 pound object; swim on your back with object to your returning point * Exit the water without using a ladder or steps
