    Connected Caregiving (18-24 months) Gradual Separation

    This is a gradual separation class (child and parent spend time together and practice spending time apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. Strong caregiving starts with connection. In this class, we’ll explore how everyday interactions—like play, routines, and calm responses—can build a secure bond between caregivers and children. Learn simple, culturally-responsive strategies to raise confident, emotionally connected kids while caring for yourself along the way. A limited number of Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with parents during discussion time. Please enroll your young infant only in the Sibling Care option. NOTE: These young infants will remain with the parents during discussion time. ECFE classes are priced on a sliding fee schedule based on family income. Please choose the fee that best fits your family budget. A 10% surcharge will be applied to fees for Non-Minneapolis residents.
  • Ones (11-24 months) Non-Separating

    This is a non-separating class (child and parent together for entire class). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. A lottery for 2nd Quarter classes will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025. You will be notified then if you are enrolled in the class. Quarter 2 classes begin the week of Nov. 5, 2025. Children and parents enjoy time together singing, playing and learning. During parent discussion time, the early childhood staff engage the children in planned activities while parents gather nearby, in the same room. Parent topics include child development, guiding behavior, sleep and nutrition in addition to parent joys and concerns. These classes are for you if you and your child are not ready to separate or simply prefer to stay together. ECFE classes are priced on a sliding fee schedule based on family income. Please choose the fee that best fits your family budget. A 10% surcharge will be added to fees for Non-Minneapolis residents.
  • Toddlers (11-24 months) Non-Separating

    This is a non separating class (child and parent spend entire class together). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. If you and your young child are ready to practice spending time apart in addition to meeting new friends and participating together in fun learning activities, then these are the classes for you. Parents will discuss child development, temperament, routines, guiding behavior in addition to separation and parent joys and concerns.
