The locks and dams in the Mississippi River reflect a 19th-century, industry-focused vision for the river. Is it time to change our vision for the future? Studies are underway right now to consider changing or removing the dams. This walking tour will cover the history, current state, and complex future possibilities for our metro Mississippi. We will cover about one mile on paved paths. If possible, we'll visit the Lock and Dam 1 observation deck (elevator available).
