Experiment with color as you create a series of small woven wall hangings using thread!
Designing with color is like creating a musical score. If individual colors are notes on a scale, the arrangement and sequencing of colors create the harmonies and rhythms that spark our senses. In this workshop, we’ll create a series of unique color “scores” using yarn wraps as our medium. The class begins with a review of common color theories, with participants contributing their knowledge for inspiration. Then, we’ll create our first yarn wraps - small-scale color sketches using yarn and stiff paper. Participants will be encouraged to use colors they love as well as colors they tend to avoid.Using our color sketches as a guide, we'll weave small wall hangings. Participants will receive an overview of the weaving process with example projects for reference.
