    Join Dakota artists Marlena Myles and Graci Horne as we travel through Southwestern Minnesota exploring Dakota history and culture. Stops include Traverse des Sioux & Treaty Site History Center in St. Peter, the 46th annual Wacipi (Powwow) at the Lower Sioux Agency with visits to their Cultural Arts Incubator & Historic Sites, Pipestone National Monument and Jeffers Petroglyphs. Marlena and Graci's stories will connect us with the history, the land, the people, the present, and future from as told from their Dakota perspective. SATURDAY: 7:45 am Board Motorcoach Bus 8:00 am Bus Departs Meet Motorcoach at Southwest High School located at 3414 W 47th Street, Mpls, MN 55410. Park in West lot located on Chowen Ave. between 46th & 47th Streets. SUNDAY: Bus returns @ @ 6:30 pm Price includes transportation, lodging, meals, and all admissions. Ages 18+. Located in St Paul, MN The Dakota Spirit Walk is a permanent augmented reality public art installation that honors, educates and connects visitors to Dakota history, culture and significance of land through the art and storytelling. The artist will be present to lead the group through the walk, explaining how Dakota stories and culture is embedded in the land at the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary. Group meets at the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary located at Commercial Street and 4th St E, St Paul, MN 55106. Transportation is on your own. If tour is full, please enroll for the waitlist. With each stop at cultural landmarks and sacred sites, we will listen to ancestral teachings and stories that have lasted through the ages, gaining a deeper appreciation for the Dakota people's profound relationships with the river, land and the stars above. As we navigate the mighty waters of the Mississippi River, our journey will help others see the river through Dakota eyes. From ancient legends to pivotal moments in history, the boat becomes a floating classroom where captivating stories come to life. We will return to shore with new understandings of the harmony between the Dakota people and the rivers and lands they call home. Dakota guides will include Marlena Myles, Fern Renville, Tanagidan To Win (Blue Hummingbird Woman) Meet at the Watergate Marina, 2500 Crosby Farm Road, Saint Paul Minnesota, 55116. Crosby Farm Road is at the intersection of Shepherd Road and Gannon Road. Transportation to the Watergate Marina is on your own. Beverages will be available to purchase on board the boat.
