Minneapolis Kids provides year-round, fee-based school-age care for families with youth enrolled in High Five/Minneapolis Kids Jr through 6th grade during the school year (entering K-7 during the summer).
Classes for Summer Youth Programs will be visible and open for registration February 25 at 5pm.

Greetings Hall Families! The Community Education and Extended Learning (ALC) Fall 2024 session will start on Monday. Oct 21st through Wednesday, Dec 11th. Classes are held each Monday and Wednesday from 2:05PM-5:00PM. We are excited to have you back! Please review the program schedule below. We have limited availability in our Fall sessions so please register as soon as possible if you are interested!
Once I have their enrollment, I will personally talk to each scholar/parent about the class they would like to enroll into to prevent a bunch of switching on the first day. (And it's a great way to activate student voice and choice!) To view the list of classes, please see below!
Classes:
MONDAYS
Green Light Puppets are geared for grades K-5 and promote actions that support personal and planetary health. We combine important social topics like empathy, communication, kindness, and equity into an array of environmental issues. Our shows are fun, engaging, upbeat, action-oriented, and timely.
Our mentors and students work together to create a one of a kind character and costume based on the child’s imagination and hopes — along the way, we spark imagination and build confidence.
Grades 1-2 Introduction to gardening and herbalism, learning about healthy eating, healthy snack creation, art projects and more!
Grades 1-2 BBA’s gym class is designed to boost fitness, foster teamwork and spark a love for movement. Our program ensures every child has a blast while staying active.
Northern Star Scouting Free Grades: 1-2
Northern Star Scouting prepares youth in a safe and inclusive environment to be leaders and individuals of strong character.
Students will develop hands-on outdoor exploration skills such as hammocking, fishing, birding with binoculars, snowshoeing, animal and plant I.D., and more. They will also go on field trips to local nature spaces including community gardens, Minneapolis lakes, the Mississippi River & more!
Hair Braiding 101 Choose your Fee ( $100, $80, $60, $40, $0) Grades: 3-5 In this class, students will learn hair braiding techniques and methods for maintaining their hair
YMentors Free Grades: 3-5K-12 STEM age-appropriate activities, utilizing Code.org, Scratch, LEGO Education products, SPHERO, 3D printing, VEX robotics, and drone building.
Swim Lessons with V3 Sports Choose your Fee ($100, $80, $60, $40, $0) Grades: 3-5 V3 Sports staff is providing swimming lessons and water fun at Franklin Middle School.
Play an array of fun sports games while learning social and emotional skills in the process!

Lundstrum
Enjoy learning the basics of Dance, Hip Hop, Singing, Acting, Drumming, and Percussion! This is an off-campus course that is only offered on Wednesdays at Lundstrum Arts!

Any child enrolled in a continuing Fall 24 course will remain enrolled in the same course(s) in the Winter/Spring 2025 session unless new courses are offered or other arrangements have been made.

TO REQUEST A BUS, REGISTER BEFORE FRIDAY, SEPT 27th! Students who pre-requested a bus stop before Monday. Sept 23rd, 2024 will receive a bus stop and bus tag Anyone who has not pre-requested a bus is not guaranteed a bus stop until the end of October.
