Minneapolis Kids provides year-round, fee-based school-age childcare for families with youth enrolled in High Five/Minneapolis Kids Jr through 5th grade during the school year (entering grades K-7 during the summer).

Have an aversion to grammar, but long to speak French? Do you learn through doing? This class is for you! Learn French in a natural conversational way in a French-only setting. This method has gained popularity in many language schools with it’s proven effects to get you familiar with a new language by using it right away without tedious memorization. Jerry Tarmann, PhD is excited to lead French classes at Roosevelt, where he was a high school student. Since then, he has amassed a wealth of experience with French and language instruction. After earning a PhD in Second Language Acquisition, he was the assistant director of the French program at UC Berkeley, director of the French program at Stanford University, then director of the program at UC Davis. He's continued to advance language learning by supervising student teachers at St. Thomas and St. Kate's; and judging at the University of Minnesota's annual high school French contest. Dr. Tarmann enjoys jogging and walking around Lake Nokomis; as well as gardening; home remodeling; and spending time with friends and family.
