Minneapolis Kids provides year-round, fee-based, school-age childcare for families with youth enrolled in High Five/Minneapolis Kids Jr through 5th grade during the school year (entering grades K-7 during the summer).

Always wanted to try stand-up comedy but were too nervous to take the stage? Maybe you’ve braved an open mic or two but failed to get the laughs you were hoping for and want to refine your act? This low-pressure, beginners’ course is for the stand-up comedy curious who want to test the waters and workshop material in a supportive group environment, learn the basics of joke writing, and practice performance skills under the guidance of a veteran stand-up comedian.
Ben Sandell (stage name listed as Ben San Del) is a past winner of Acme Comedy Co.’s Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest. He has performed as host, feature and headliner at dozens of clubs and theaters throughout the Midwest and was an invited artist to four national comedy festivals at Aspen, Atlanta, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. He has opened for Tig Notaro, Maria Bamford, Emo Phillips, and Ali Wong, among dozens of other national headliners. His one-person show "Spec" won "Best Storytelling Performance" by audience vote at the 2017 Victoria, Canada, Fringe Festival, and he's a three-time winner of the audience pick for encore performance at the Minnesota Fringe Festival, where he has produced/directed three plays and three stand-up comedy performances.
