Rustic Backroads of Wisconsin and Tiffany Bottoms Natural Birding Trip
Travel along rustic rural roads of Wisconsin on our way to Tiffany Bottoms State Natural Area along the Chippewa River bottomlands. Our route will take us to Wisconsin cities along historic US Highway 12 through Woodville, Hersey, Wilson, Knapp, and with a short city tour of Menomonee, Wisconsin. The final stretch of our trip will travel through Downsville to Durand, Wisconsin, where we will board our open car train for a three-and-a-half-hour ride through one of the best birding areas in America. Along this route, we will learn the history and see historic sites in each of the little towns we travel through. Tiffany Bottoms State Natural Area is a small portion of the most extensive river delta of the Midwest. The bottoms abound in wildlife besides the typical species; the area contains rare and uncommon birds. The train travels through a birders' paradise where you’ll find nearly every species of bird that lives in the Upper Midwest. The open air train tram takes passengers into the most remote areas of this wildlife area.
