CE: Chess & Games: Mindful Mice Edition! (Grade 3-5) Field Afterschool, Tuesdays

Chess is back with our All Star Community Ed Chess coach Dave! Boost your child’s brainpower and strategic thinking with a fun mix of chess and classic games! This afterschool program is designed to sharpen minds, improve problem-solving skills, and build friendly competition. Whether a beginner or a budding master, every child will enjoy the challenge and excitement. Get ready to play! There are seasonal district wide chess tournaments that your student will have the opportunity to participate in. Last school year our Hale & Field students took 1st place in the K-3 section of the Check It Out Chess Tournament, 3rd in Winter, and 2nd place in Spring! This Fall Hale & Field students took 1st place in the K-3 section and 4th in the 4-6 section! Stay tuned for Future Check It Out Chess Tournaments! Children's Theatre Company: Making A Scene! (Grade 3-5) Field Afterschool, Tuesdays

Step into the spotlight with Making a Scene! Learn classic theatre and acting games with a teaching artist from the Children's Theatre Company! In this lively afterschool class, Students will learn how to make short stories and write theatrical scenes of their own. They will learn a few basic story-building improv games and use the scenarios they act out, to write down and craft full scenes with their partner/partners. Active Solutions powered by InSports has taken the best of Physical Education and created a after school class your child(ren) will love. Activities include: indoor Physical Education and Team Sports. Teachers also incorporate math, reading, health, nutrition and wellness into their lessons. This class is perfect for the child that needs more movement in their lives! Lessons are designed to keep kids engaged in learning activities and to keep their heart rates elevated. Character building, cooperative skills, individual success and safety are all emphasized.
