Avoid Pig Butchering Scams (Roosevelt 55+)

Lifelong Learning 55+ / Adventures in Learning -
Lifelong Learning 55+ Spring 2025

Pig butchering scams use investment opportunities, online dating apps and social media platforms to create elaborate fake identities and establish romantic or emotional connections with victims.

The term "pig butchering" is a reference to fattening pigs before slaughter. Pigs are actually fairly smart. You can also outsmart these fraud factories.

Save your savings by learning how to detect these schemes, and defend yourself with proven avoidance strategies.

Class held at Nokomis Library, 5100 34th Ave. S.
