    6th Grade Jazz Band (Justice Page-ALC)

    Join 6th Grade Jazz Band after school! This class is for 6th grade students who want a challenge on their current instruments and are interested in learning more about playing jazz music. This class will prepare students for our actual Jazz Band class (only for 7th and 8th graders). Work in small groups and as a large ensemble and gain musical skills! This class meets on Mondays after school. This class is only open to Justice Page students.
  • Afterschool Music Ensemble (Justice Page-ALC)

    Join Afterschool Music Ensemble with Mr. Kaiser! Students who sign up for this class can get help with: Practicing their instrument (minutes do count towards your practice calendar). Learning a second instrument Work in a duet, trio, or small group! Having practice space for a rock band or other ensemble to meet. and any other musical ideas you have! Class will meet twice a week to make it easier for as many students as possible to attend. Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school! This class is only open to Justice Page students.
  • Anime Club (Justice Page)

    Join Anime club! Meet and spend time with fellow anime lovers. We'll be taking a look at some of the most popular anime series and films. We watch a variety of series and shows that the youth suggest and vote on. Ratings for anmie vary but kids tend to suggest series that are PG, PG-13, and TV 14. In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education offers fees on a sliding scale. Families are asked to pick the class fee or a price that they are able to pay. When families participate as they are able, at all levels of our sliding scale, the whole program becomes self-sustaining and our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as higher and discounted options.

    Diorama and Miniature Making (Gr. 6-9)

    Come get creative making a Diorama and Miniature structures. We'll supply the materials and ideas but you bring your imagination and let it run wild as you create detailed dioramas and miniatures about or for your favorite things. To ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education offers fees on a sliding scale.   • GEMS and GISE - Stem Academy ALC (Justice Page)

    The GEMS-GISE-STEM Academies are after-school STEM programs designed specifically for Minneapolis Public School District students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The programs focus on explorations of science and mathematics through project-based and problem-based learning experiences promoting the integration of engineering and technology concepts, content, and process. Students that participate in GEMS-GISE enroll in a year-long after-school program that is comprised of two semester courses with an opportunity to continue learning in the six week summer K-8 STEM Academy. This class is offered as a Tuesdaya nd Thursday class. We would love for students to attend both days but understand that is not always possible. Please join us, even if for one day each week. Fall 2025: Robotics- Middle School Robotics Team In this dynamic robotics class, students will explore mechanical design, construction, programming, and teamwork skills. Working in pairs with LEGO building elements, motors, and sensors, they will build various robot prototypes. Students will program these robots to move, react, and make sounds, applying their skills to solve design challenges using LEGO SPIKE Essential & Prime robotic systems. The class will culminate in participation in the 2026 FIRST LEGO League Challenge UNEARTHED℠ on January 17, 2026. Get ready to dig in! In the UNEARTHED℠ Challenge, students and their LEGO team will harness creativity, critical thinking, and technology to explore this season’s challenge. Teams are challenged to combine the thrill of archaeology with the power of technology. It's a chance for students to use their STEM skills, innovation, and teamwork to uncover the past and help shape the future! Spring 2026: Build, Power, Create! (Energy-Electricity-Electronics) Power up your mind! In our Energy, Electricity, and Electronics course, students will be an investigator, diving into the core concepts that light up our world. Students explore the fundamentals of energy, including how it's measured, converted, and transferred. We will also look to the future, examining the importance of conservation and the potential of alternative energy sources through a hands-on, problem-based approach. Students will conduct investigations into key concepts like currents, open and closed circuits, series and parallel circuits, and static electricity. Students also explore the properties of conductors and insulators, and the principles of magnetism as they work on exciting, project-based experiments. Get ready to level up! Engage in exciting electronics projects, middle school students learn to build, test, and troubleshoot circuits using circuit boards and other electronic components. The adventure continues with a special opportunity to explore the fascinating world of digital electronics. Students will create their own projects using microcontrollers and sensors, bringing their ideas to life! This class is only open to Justice Page Students.

    Join Hip Hop Club! Learn from local DJ Kool Akiem about DJ and Hip-Hop culture. You'll explore the cool history of hip-hop and the Science of DJing.     Do you want an opportunity to make Justice Page and the world a better place? Do you love thrifting, vintage clothes or want to help with our 2nd hand fashion show? Are you interested in hearing from people in our community that make positive environmental and social changes? Do you like potatoes and hot sauce? Because we cook up potatoes each week, sometimes other snacks too! If you said yes to any of these questions, consider joining the Justice Page Green Team! The Green Team at Justice Page is a group of students who are working together to make our world a better place. We will work hard to put on big events at school. The Green Team is a fun way to learn more about environmental issues, and sustainability, and work with other students who share a passion for making our school and community a great place to live. Students will have a voice and choice in what we focus on. This class will be FUN and make an IMPACT! Potatoes and snacks are a nice little bonus to this class, hard to save the planet on an empty stomach! Join us! This class is only open to Justice Page students.

    MakerStudio: Homemade Remote-Control Car (Justice Page-ALC)

    MakerStudio: Homemade Remote-Control Car Learn some basics of circuit electricity and use those skills to build a remote-control car from craft supplies and simple electronic components! Then, practice "driving" your car through an obstacle course of your own design. Final projects will be featured at the Fall JPMS STEAM Night! (Monday) This class is only open to Justice Page students.

    Need help with Math? This is the class for you. Ms. Novak will work with you and small groups to understand and complete Math work. Gain confidence in asking and answering math questions. You will also play other math games to build on what you know.

You will also play other math games to build on what you know. The second half of Math and Movement will be spent moving your body doing circuit workouts, meditation, and other exercies in the gym.

    Student Newspaper- The Justice Pages (Justice Page-ALC)

    You asked for it, and we listened! We are excited to announce THE RETURN of The Justice Pages, our beloved school newspaper. Keep your classmates up to date on the latest goings on at our school while advancing your skills in communication & writing, critical thinking, creative design, multimedia, and more. Join Mr. Shane as we create an awesome team and create something wonderful together! This class is only open to Justice Page students.
  • Urban Debate League (Justice Page) ALC

    Students will work together to prepare for and participate in the Minneapolis Urban Debate League- Middle School National Topic. Students will learn to construct and share research-based arguments and will learn to engage in thoughtful, respectful debates with their peers. Students can compete in up to 6 debate tournaments from January to March. Our debate divisions are designed to get students excited about debate. Rookie and novice are designed for beginner students. Junior Varsity and Varsity are designed for students who are ready for a higher level of competition.
  • YWCA Girls Inc (Justice Page)

    YWCA - Girls Inc! YWCA Minneapolis is a member organization of Girls Incorporated. Through Girls Inc., girls take risks, discover and grow their inherent strengths, learn to value themselves and create long-lasting mentorship relationships in a pro-girl environment. Through this affiliation with Girls Inc., YWCA offers research-based curriculum delivered by trained professionals to equip girls to achieve academically, lead healthy and physically active lives, manage money, navigate media messages and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This programming helps girls traverse complex gender, economic and social barriers to find success. Participants gain opportunities to learn new skills, make positive connections to peers and adults, contribute to society and believe in their ability to create the best possible future for themselves. This group is for students who identify as girls and/or non-binary. YWCA will require additional registration forms to be completed before program start.

    Yearbook is only open to 7th and 8th grade students. Do you like taking photos? Do you like graphic design? Writing? Have you ever wanted to publish a book? Join the Yearbook Staff! Each student will create their own pages from start to finish, making composition decisions, taking and/or choosing photos, and writing captions and headings. Waitlist Registration: Yearbook is a very popular class. This registration is to share your interest in being on the yearbook team. Students must complete a yearbook application in addition to completing this registration.
