Minneapolis Kids provides year-round, fee-based school-age care for families with youth enrolled in High Five/Minneapolis Kids Jr through 6th grade during the school year (entering K-7 during the summer).
Classes for Summer Youth Programs will be visible and open for registration February 25 at 5pm.

Chess is back with our All Star Community Ed Chess coach Dave! Boost your child’s brainpower and strategic thinking with a fun mix of chess and classic games! This afterschool program is designed to sharpen minds, improve problem-solving skills, and build friendly competition. Whether a beginner or a budding master, every child will enjoy the challenge and excitement. Get ready to play! There are seasonal district wide chess tournaments that your student will have the opportunity to participate in. Last school year our Hale & Field students took 1st place in the K-3 section of the Check It Out Chess Tournament, 3rd in Winter, and 2nd place in Spring! This Fall Hale & Field students took 1st place in the K-3 section and 4th in the 4-6 section! Stay tuned for Future Check It Out Chess Tournaments!

Bus **In order for your child to have bussing on the first day of programming please register by Dec. 19. If you register after Dec. 19, bussing may not be available for your student right away.**
In order to ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. We're moving to a sliding scale model for program fees so our youth programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. The different prices reflect the average cost of offering a class as well as discounted options and options that help us cover our administrative costs. Fees cover instructor pay, class supplies, program materials, marketing and scholarships. The actual cost of the class is the first listed however, families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. As always, we will continue to offer full scholarships upon request. When families participate as they are able, in all levels of our sliding scale, the whole program becomes self-sustaining. Thank you for your consideration as you sign up for youth programs!
