Yoga asana (physical postures) prepare the mind for stillness. In this all-levels class, we will practice postures for 60 minutes and end with a 15 minute meditation. Modification and options will always be offered. We will learn about the history of yoga asana practice and the physiological and neurological benefits of yoga asana and meditation, too. Everyone and every body is welcome!
Katie Rodgers brings a background as a K-12 Special Education teacher and over eight years of personal research and practice to her mindfulness instruction. She holds certifications from Mindful Schools and iBME (Inward Bound Mindfulness Education). During a four-year dedication to teaching yoga and meditation, she worked with diverse groups ranging from cancer survivors and educators to recently incarcerated adults, and dedicates to making meditation accessible and affordable.
