Join Dale Wolpers, Tour Guide/Education Development for the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club as we take a look at how baseball permeates our lives through the language that we speak, the music that we listen to, the books that we read, and the movies that we watch. Baseball idioms will be explored. Imagining the sights, sounds, smells and emotions of the game will be brought to the forefront. Discussion topics may include how the clubhouse may differ after a win versus a loss, or how a television broadcast call may differ from a radio call. Baseball sign language will also be examined. Further, some of the greatest stories in American literature and movies, as well as many common phrases in our language that come from baseball will be discussed. Come explore Target Field and hit one out of the park with participants as they step up to the plate to learn about the game we call America's favorite pastime.
