We welcome East African families whose children have an IEP, children whose parents have a concern and their siblings to join us in playing and learning together. Parents discuss various topics as decided by the group about their children's development. We also discuss how to improve cultural barrier of East African Children who have special needs. In collaboration with MPS Indian Education, Native American families: • Explore traditional parenting within their contemporary lifestyles • Deepen their connection to culture • Focus on discussion topics of child development, school readiness, temperament, guiding behavior, sibling relationships ECFE classes are priced on a sliding fee schedule based on family income. This is a separating class (parents and children spend time together and apart.) This class, in partnership with Early Childhood Special Education, will explore social communication skills, strategies, and more. Families will learn more about the autism community, resources and supports in the metro area. This is a class for families with children who have been diagnosed with autism or who are in the process of receiving a diagnosis and who would like to learn meaningful ways to encourage their child’s social and communication development. Children are naturally curious. Through inquiry, children will use their senses to discover answers to questions they truly care about in our natural world, both living and non-living. Parents will engage with their child in nature-based learning experiences both indoors and outdoors. Parent education will explore how to lead your child's nature learning. Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with parents during discussion time. Please enroll your young infant only in the Sibling Care option.
