    This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). Families come in many different sizes, colors and makeups. We invite adoptive, foster and kinship families to join us in an ECFE class that explores parent and child development through an adoptive/foster family lens. Class will begin with a circle time and then parents will separate for a 1.75 hour topic discussion. A limited number of Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with parents during discussion time. Please enroll your young infant only in the Sibling Care option. NOTE: These young infants will remain with the parents during discussion time. ECFE classes are priced on a sliding fee schedule based on family income. Please choose the fee that best fits your family budget. We’d like to welcome everyone to join us for this class to learn how to engage their children in conversations about race. Our class will discuss topics such as: how children learn about race, develop a racial identity, and how caregivers can support a healthy racial identity and engage as a family in racial justice.     This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). Spend time playing with your child along with parents and children of a variety of cultural backgrounds. During parent discussion, parents will share parenting practices and critically examine research-based information using a cultural lens.   • Black and Brown Children (Birth to Kindergarten Enrollment) Separating

    This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). Join us for a space to engage with your young Black/Brown child with child friendly activities to do together; while connecting with other caregivers about parenting and how it's different when raising Black and Brown children. Our class is taught by a Brown Latinx teacher. Class meets weekly and you may join at any time. Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with parents during discussion time.   • ECFE at Fellowship Missionary (Birth to Kindergarten) Separating

    This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). Minneapolis ECFE in partnership with Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church and MPS Full Service at Cityview Community School are excited to offer this semester long ECFE class for birth-5 year olds and their families. This class is open to the community. Sibling care will be provided for families that have children who are school age. MPS Full Service at Cityview Community School will provide a kick off dinner on September 29th, and an end of class celebration meal on January 26th. This class will include a parent and child interaction time, circle time, and a parent discussion. Parent discussion will include topics such as child development, school readiness, guiding behavior, and sibling relationships. There is no fee for this class.
  • ECFE/ECSE Connections (0-5y) Separating

    This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). This course, in partnership with Early Childhood Special Education, will explore social communication skills, strategies, and more. Families will learn more about the autism community, resources and supports in the metro area. This is a class for families with children who have been diagnosed with autism or who are in the process of receiving a diagnosis and who would like to learn meaningful ways to encourage their child’s social and communication development. Siblings are welcome.
  • Nature and Curiosity (24 months to Kindergarten Enrollment) Separating

    This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. Children are naturally curious. Through inquiry, children will use their senses to discover answers to questions they truly care about in our natural world, both living and non-living. Parents will engage with their child in nature-based learning experiences both indoors and outdoors. Parent education will explore how to lead your child's nature learning.     This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). A class that answers your questions about sibling rivalry. Using scientific research to craft smart strategies that any parent can use to help their children resolve conflicts with empathy, mindfulness, and peace. Parents will learn mindfulness exercises to integrate into parenting, increasing resiliency for both parent and child.     This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). The age range listed for this class is based on the child's age on the date the class session begins. Build trust, confidence and understanding of your child's communication through yoga. Class includes activities focused on different age groups, partner yoga poses, and a yoga flow for anyone willing to participate.     This is a separating class (child and parent spend time together and apart). A Birth-Kindergarten class to provide a space for Queer parents and/or families with young children who are gender expansive or gender creative to engage with each other in conversations on relevant parenting topics. Together we will share ideas and resources for all of us under the rainbow. A limited number of Infants 0-4 months are welcome to stay with parents during discussion time.
