Introducing our exciting chess class for youth, brought to you by Community Ed and Twin Cities Chess Club! Join us in a fun and engaging environment where young minds can unleash their strategic thinking and sharpen their problem-solving skills. Our chess class is designed to cater to all skill levels, from beginners to intermediate players.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from each other, play friendly matches, and participate in tournaments to put their skills to the test. Our focus extends beyond the game itself, fostering critical thinking, patience, decision-making, and the ability to analyze complex situations.

Whether your child is interested in casual play or aspires to compete at a higher level, our chess class offers a supportive and nurturing environment to develop their abilities. So, come and join us as we embark on an exciting journey into the captivating world of chess! ♟️

To ensure that our high-quality enrichment classes are accessible to all families, Minneapolis Community Education is now offering fees on a sliding scale. We're moving to a sliding scale model for program fees so our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay or select the no-cost option. We have always offered partial and full scholarships upon request. If you choose to pay above the class cost, you are helping provide opportunities for children in your community that would otherwise be unable to afford them. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making these requests. When families participate as they are able, in all levels of our sliding scale, the whole program becomes self-sustaining.
