Adult Enrichment / Cooking -
Adult Enrichment Winter 2025

Spring rolls get their name because they are traditionally eaten during the Spring Festival. It is a Chinese New Year dish especially popular in East China. Spring rolls are cylindrical-shaped rolls filled with vegetables and meat. Fillings are wrapped in thin dough wrappers, then fried, when the spring rolls are given their golden-yellow color. Price includes a supply kit of ingredients purchased and provided by the instructor.

Xiaohong Chen

Xiaohong Chen was born in China and immigrated to the USA in 1991 and has been residing in the Twin Cities for more than 25 years. Although she grew in a family where her mother cooked all meals and made all kinds of delicious pasta and wheaten foods, she got interested in cooking only in recent years. She stared to teach Chinese dumpling-making classes online during the COVID Pandemic.

Xiaohong enjoys sharing the fun of cooking and eating with other people. She has been teaching Chinese dumpling-making. She added a Chinese mooncake-making class in fall 2023. She will consider teaching how to make more kinds of Chinese food.
