Join Sylvia Fine of the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest as we explore the Jewish roots in this historic neighborhood.
The Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest is pleased to offer guided tours of the Northside neighborhood through the lens of Jewish history. The Northside of Minneapolis was the storied neighborhood of Jewish immigrants and their children. While no longer a Jewish neighborhood, we provide information about what was once a thriving and rich area with synagogues, kosher grocery stores, Jewish delis, and community centers.
Join Sylvia on this short walking tour (about one mile), where we will visit former synagogues and Jewish community buildings that still stand today and serve the Northside community as African American churches and buildings that serve current residents on the Northside.
Tour is limited to 20 people, so sign up before it fills up!
The tour will begin and end at 1000 N Oliver Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55411, Disciples Ministry Church/Pastor Paul's Mission (the former home of Mikro Kodesh Synagogue).
If class is sold out, please enroll for the waitlist. We will contact you if a tickets becomes available.
