This course is designed for beginners and will focus on several elements of art, such as line, shape, value and contrast. The instructor will help you learn how to draw what you see, by expanding your knowledge of proportion and value comparison. Students will learn how to transform simple lines and shapes into works of art with the use of shading to add contrast and dimension. Bring your own supplies, supply list sent after registration (expect an extra cost of about $15).
Michael DuFresne is a local MSP artist who specializes in comic art and illustration. He graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in May 2024 with a BFA in Comic Art. Michael enjoys writing comics that focus on capturing the fantastical elements of the everyday, highlighting LGBTQ+ characters and issues.
