Explore the art and craft behind beautiful, functional braided cords and bands! From simple plaits to intricate, patterned braids, we’ll learn a variety of traditional and contemporary techniques including kumihimo and flat band braids.
You’ll discover how to build patterns through color order and thread manipulation, manage tension, and finish your cords. Along the way, we’ll discuss global braid traditions and how these techniques continue to inspire modern makers. You’ll leave class knowing ready to create more cords and bands for jewelry, key chains, ties, trims, and other decorative uses.
This class is adaptable to varying levels of dexterity. All experience and skill levels are welcome.
