Minneapolis Kids provides year-round, fee-based, school-age childcare for families with youth enrolled in High Five/Minneapolis Kids Jr through 5th grade during the school year (entering grades K-7 during the summer).
Teen Parent Services is dedicated to keeping teen parents on the track to graduation by providing them with parenting education and supports while providing high-quality early childhood education services to their children.

Celebrate Black History Month! The Black to the Future Tour is a fun and interactive experience that brings the Black to the Future comic book to life—celebrating Black history past, present, and future. Participants will explore inventions created by Black innovators while visiting local Black-owned businesses featured in the comic book. Each stop connects history to modern-day creativity and entrepreneurship, inspiring guests to imagine what’s next. Based on a series of comic books written by Mizz Mercedes, this is your chance to experience Black to the Future in real life!

Mercedes has been part of the public education system for more than a decade, building her experience in areas of special education and behavior. She has seen how technology has made an impact on today’s youth, which inspired her to start a new venture as a virtual educator, also known as ‘Mizz Mercedez.’ She’s an inspiring mother to four boys, dedicated to providing an enjoyable learning process with a culturally diverse curriculum that instills pride in children of color. She urges young adults to view their history using a positive frame of mind and her creativity has no limitations. Mercedes incorporates video games, comic books and animations into teaching methods. She strongly believes today’s kids hold the key to creating a better future and she’s passionate about guiding this generation to unlock unlimited abilities of their hearts and minds. Her so-called superpower, to make this change, is an infectious positivity, that Mercedes carries wherever she goes.
