Garden with a Naturalist: Plant Families and DIY Plant Markers (Roosevelt 55+)

Lifelong Learning 55+ / Trips & Tours -
Lifelong Learning 55+ Spring 2026

Learn how to categorize plants in the garden based on the families they belong to. We will discuss characteristics that plants in the same family share and use this knowledge to determine what's growing in the garden. You will also be able to make your very own air-dry clay plant marker to take home for your garden, herb pot, or house plant. This program will take place in a garden and will be entirely outdoors, please dress for the weather. You will be sent an email if session needs to be canceled due to bad weather.

Program held at JD Rivers’ Garden, 2900 Glenwood Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55405.  There is no parking lot but street parking is available on the south side of Glenwood Ave and perpendicular streets.
