    This class will discover all sorts of cool tidbits about fascinating adaptations birds and insects have made to survive in the wild—such as camouflage, feather colors, how some insects purposely taste bad so as to not get eaten, and more. In addition to going outside the classroom with our nature journals in hand to observe native bugs and birds, this class will use a variety of art materials to create awesome nature related art projects inspired by what we learned.     In the Scouting program kids will have fun while learning about nature, first aid, what to do in an emergency, fun science activities, group games, and more.     Come join Mr. Shoes wife Mrs. Nancy and bring your creative mind to learn about inspiration and expand your artistic creativity.     If you love dragons and everything about them, this class is for you! Fly into fiery dragon quests as you journey to new worlds with your fearless guide, a teaching artist from the Children's Theatre Company.     ICT delivers our Kidspeed® curriculum and ACE program weekly in our partner schools and sites, at no charge. We literally take our programs “on the road” as our team of dedicated and enthusiastic coaches and volunteers take mini nets, rackets, balls and agility-balance-coordination stations to you!   • Kendama (Grades 3-5)

    Kendama is a growing professional sport in the world with Minneapolis being a hub for some of the best players in the world. Our program merges the fun and excitement of Kendama play with the importance of mindful awareness and emotional regulation. Our program teaches students basic techniques in mindful breathing designed to help reduce stress, anger and anxiety. The program also focuses on helping students practice emotional awareness and growth mindset through journaling, reflection and through play with kendama in a series of progressively harder challenges and games. Students can expect to be active and moving during our class. No prior kendama experience is necessary! Students will receive a Kendama to take home and practice.   • Northrop's Singing Wood Ducks (Grades 1-5)

    Ms. Ley is back!!! Come join your friends in the music room and be part of Northrop's Choir group. Singers will sing together in an ensemble and learn rehearsal strategies. Taught by Mrs. Ley.     Children will begin to explore the world of robotics as they build simple animal models that teach the fundamentals of robotic design. Whether learning about sensors while building a fish or alligator or discovering ways that gears and wheels and axles create movement while building robotic dogs or frog, your child is sure to have a great time!     It’s springtime and that can only mean one thing: SPRINGTIME FUN WITH YOUNG REMBRANDTS! If your child enjoys the outdoors, they will love the upcoming Hummingbird lesson filled with color and whimsy. We’ll be drawing all season creating motorcycles, boats and even the butterfly life cycle!     This class is a spin off from the winter class "Bookshelf buddies". Ms. Emily would love to take it even further and do creative writing styles, interactive games, and some reading will be involved. Class will mainly focus on writing prompts and stories.
