Mindfulness meditation can calm the nervous system and give you time and space to think outside the box of work, family, and news. It can change how we interact with and respond to life. Start or continue your meditation practice and expand your mind. If you are curious about mindfulness or meditation, or seek relaxation, reprieve, or deeper spiritual connection; join a community practice to create shared natural energy.
I have been an Adult ELL teacher for the past 12 years, although I took this past year off to pursue Mindfulness Meditation teaching and mentoring. I graduated from the 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. Over the past year, I have led group meditations and talks as well as an Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation series, which is what I want to offer via Adult Enrichment. I have also led teacher meditation sessions for their professional development.
One of the things I do well is hold space and welcome those into my space. I did it when I taught English, and I do it in my mindfulness groups. My primary goal is to make people feel comfortable, engaged, and relaxed. With all of this as my fundamental framework for teaching, I believe community and engagement naturally occurs. My classes allow people who are curious about mindfulness or meditation, or for those seeking relaxation, reprieve, or deeper spiritual connection to be together and practice together. And when we are in communion (community) there is an organic and natural energy that is created and felt. This is why I love this work and believe in this class.
