Creative Readers and Project buddies is a collaborative afterschool program where younger students build reading skills through weekly lessons, storytelling, and hands-on projects--paired with the support of older student mentors. Younger students will explore books, practice foundational literacy, and create projects inspired by what they read. Older buddies will help guide activities and work side-by-side with younger buddies to practice their own reading comprehension. Together, students grow as readers, creators, and community members while discovering that learning is more fun when you share it with a buddy!
This class will be a continuation of the winter session, but new students are highly encouraged to join!
Please note that the last day of this class will be on Thursday, April 30th. If you need continuing care for your child through May 14th, you can sign up for our "Kid's Club" class option. You will find it listed among the Kenny afterschool spring classes in eleyo.
Extended Learning (ALC) classes are free of charge, thanks to State funding.
