Restorative Exercise for Pelvic Floor & Core (Summer)

***This class will be held outdoors at Fuller Park on days weather permitting. We will move indoors to nearby Justice Page in the event of pour weather*** In this class we will explore the foundational moves of the Restore Your Core® movement method. Through movement, we will explore spinal and pelvic mobility, core engagement, and how the breath contributes to healing, as well as our bodies' preferred movement patterns. Students will learn new ways to bring more balance into the body, with the goal of reducing or eliminating core and pelvic floor injuries and dysfunction. This is ideal for people who experience symptoms such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis, or people who have given birth as recently as 12 weeks prior to beginning of class and are looking to reconnect with their bodies. It is also ideal for those experiencing low back pain, weak core, stiffness, and who are looking to create a new movement practice. The moves are based on yoga and Pilates, but with a different approach than what you might find in most yoga or Pilates classes.
  • Sound Bath & Meditation (Southwest)

We will begin the morning with a sweet meditation and breathwork allowing your body and mind to relax into your yoga mat. From there, you will feel the power of deep relaxation through a sound bath with Crystal bowls, the depth of sound through a Gong, and other sound instruments representing the ocean, rain, and wind. The experience is designed to bring your mind, body and spirit into balance. +Please bring: yoga mat, blanket, and anything else that will help you be comfortable such as eye mask, pillow. Wear comfortable clothing. Energy follows intention (or our thoughts!) We spend several hours in our day thinking, analyzing, and doing, often without paying attention to how each of these activities makes us feel energetically. As the name suggests, a Sound Bath is an immersion in beautiful sounds and vibrations that are healing for your body, mind and spirit. A Sound Bath is a deeply relaxing, meditative experience which can take you on a journey of deep relaxation, healing and self discovery. Sound healing, an ancient wellness practice dating back thousands of years, has been linked to reductions in stress and anxiety. Sound travels through water four times faster than it travels through air, and since our bodies are mostly composed of water, many believe that sound helps us recalibrate. Reminder: Please bring yoga mat with you. You may also want to bring a bolster, pillow, blanket, and/or eye cover to maximize the flow of energy. Each participant will also receive a few crystals to enhance your session. Please bring a water bottle for hydration. Meet at the Center for Performing Arts located at 3754 Pleasant Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55409. If session is full, please enroll for the waitlist. We will contact you if a space becomes available.
