Minneapolis Kids provides year-round, fee-based, school-age childcare for families with youth enrolled in High Five/Minneapolis Kids Jr through 5th grade during the school year (entering grades K-7 during the summer).
Teen Parent Services is dedicated to keeping teen parents on the track to graduation by providing them with parenting education and supports while providing high-quality early childhood education services to their children.

Give the gift of learning. Gift vouchers can be purchased in a variety of denominations and can be used for most Community Education Youth & Adult Enrichment classes. Some restrictions apply.
Explore the mechanics of the standard road bike, learn about gearing up and down, How to do ABC (air,brake,chain) checks, and how to properly adjust bike helmets and use hand signals in order to be a 'Street Safe' biker. We will start out by biking to neighborhood parks and around the lake Harriet parkway, and then work our way up to biking on the Midtown Greenway. Students are encouraged to bring their own helmet and water bottle. Bikes will be available for students who do not have access to a bike from home.

This class starts on May 5th and ends on May 14th (2 weeks).
Note: Community Education uses a sliding scale model for program fees so our afterschool programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. The cost of the class is listed first. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. When families participate at the higher price levels, they help make the program more sustainable.
Explora la mecánica de una bicicleta de carretera estándar, aprende a subir y bajar de marcha, a realizar las comprobaciones ABC (aire, freno y cadena), a ajustar correctamente el casco y a usar las señales manuales para andar en bicicleta con seguridad en la calle. Comenzaremos recorriendo parques del vecindario y la avenida Lake Harriet, y luego recorreremos Midtown Greenway. Se anima a los estudiantes a traer su propio casco y botella de agua. Habrá bicicletas disponibles para quienes no tengan acceso a una en casa.
